Tasting Notes

Mencia 90%/ Grenache 10%.

The lovely flowery aromas of strawberry, raspberry, pomegranate and cherry sauce of this blend entices the senses.

Bottled July 2022. Vegan friendly, Minimal Sulphites.

No fining and minimal filtration are used.

Mencia is a new variety to Australia This Spanish variety (also cultivated in Portugal and known there as Jaen) is an emerging variety and is well suited to our region. This is our first vintage for the Mencia and we are excited with its future at Ivybrook for the ability to ripen early and its potential tolerance to heat and drought.

The Grenache is grown by Rod Tavener at their Tatachilla vineyard in Mclaren Vale.
